Hood River welcomes KB4girls
After running an amazing girls clinic at Hood Rivers Wells Island last year Kristin Boese wants to take KB4girls to this American Mecca of kiteboarding and the great kiteboarding conditions of the Columbia river. On September 4 kitesurf girls from Oregon, Washington, will come together to learn new tricks and improve their riding.

The Hood River area might just have not only the highest density of female kiteboarders in the world but an amazing local kite community. The two together will surely make this event both successful and unforgettable. Kristin Boese and Tonia Farman will be professionally instructing the girls on water and land all day long with demonstrations, simulator training and mental imaging. DaKine and BestKiteboarding will make sure the participating girls are geared up nicely and Kiehl's will take care of the sun protection on the beach.

All in all this is another KB4girls event to really look forward to and to support the female kiteboarding community in the world - in particular in Oregon and Washington this time.
Kitesurf Tour Europe is over
Last weekend the final tour stop in the first year of the Kitesurf Tour Europe was held. Celline Collaud from Switzerland and Alberto Rondina from Italy performed best after five successful events throughout the most beautiful beaches in Europe. 76 riders from 11 nations were attending the final stage of the Kitesurf Tour Europe in Swinoujscie. "It was a great pleasure to host the series for the first time and it will be not the last" , Wojciech Gagorowski CEO of Event Factory S.C. said right after the ceremony.

For the final stage at the long white sandy beach of Swinoujscie the following riders reached the podium:
Italy's Alberto Rondina kept his winning streak for the year with a win at this final stop ahead of German Champion Mario Rodwald. Fellow German Stefan Permien finished in third followed by Christophe Tack from Belgium in fourth and Polish rider Marek Rowinski from Kozobrzeg in the south of Poland in fifth.

The difficult conditions with partly offshore and gusty winds obviously favoured the polish female Freestylers. The first three places are from Poland! Warszaw resident Joanna Asia Litwin beat internationally most experienced Polish rider Ania Grzelinska from Wrozlaw who just celebrated her 23rd birthday on Thursday in a close final. Michalina Laskowska from Weadyseawowo kicked out Johara Sykes-Davies from the UK to finish third. So Swinoujscie became a triumph for the Polish ladies.

In Racing Bruno Sroka from France dominated against Bjoern Rune Jensen who had been close on his heals for the year's rankings. Kathrin Borgwardt took the majority of the wins for the ladies taking the win for the final event.

Thanks to all the organizers and the competitors for creating such a spectacular series of events! We look forward to cover the next year's tour again!

KB4girls visiting Sweden
While Scandinavia is known for its rugged beauty and its great snow in the wintertime it is also known for producing great female competitors in the kiteboarding world - just one of many reasons for KB4girls to target female kiters in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland from August 27-29.

With local rippers Anki Knutsson and Anna Sparre, the KB4girls team around world champion Kristin Boese will have the best possible support to reach out to the girls in Scandinavia and to teach them new skills. While both Anki and Anna have a lot of experience traveling around on the kiteboarding world circuit they have both been organizing local girls groups over the past few years and are supporting females in the sport with a passion.

The Oeresund Sound will be the perfect location for the KB4girls event since it offers a huge bay with many different spots for different wind directions but also shallow water for easy learning. Based at a camp ground the girls will drive to wherever the conditions in the bay are best and practise new moves under the instructions of Anki, Anna and Kristin all weekend.

The wind forecast for the Oresund Region should give some light wind conditions during the weekend. You can check the weather station at Malmo for real-time wind and weather reports.
Final tour stop of Kitesurf Tour Europe
Tomorrow will be the final of the Kitesurf Tour Europe at Swinoujscie / Poland. After an exciting season, all competitors will continue their fight for the title there.

KTE_2010_poland_logo.jpg

It will be a great and exciting final in Freestyle and Race, because the freestyle leader Alberto Rondina (ITA) is just three points in front of the second place holder Mario Rodwald (GER) and also the places three to six are really closed together. In Race is it just one point difference between current leader Bruno Sroka (FRA) and the second Björn Rune Jensen (DEN).

Best of all, the wind forecast for Swinoujscie is really looking good at the moment with winds from 20 to 30 knots from westerly directions, so I am sure we will have an exciting tour stop.

KB4girls in Germany
Going into its 8th year World Champion Kristin Boese is set to hold her camp for female kiteboarders at Surfcenter Wustrow Fischland/Darss in Germany from August 20 - 21, 2010. Kristin's original idea behind organizing this annual event was to support females in the sport and to motivate them to compete in national and international competitions, which has proved very successful in Germany. Because of its tremendous success and dramatically growing demand the event also resulted in the idea to launch the KB4girls world tour.

With KB4girls launching at the beginning of 2010 the Girls Camp in Germany, the destination now also becomes a KB4girls tour stop and will be a very special event in the calendar of the tour. Not only because it represents the origin of the tour but also because the venue of Wustrow/Darss is where Kristin first experienced the sport of kiteboarding while working at the Surfcenter Wustrow as a windsurfing instructor.

Another very special and meaningful collaboration is the one with the "Silke Gorldt Foundation" which was created in honor of the German kiter Silke Gorldt who died in a tragic kite accident in 2002. Silke was a great friend to Kristin and a great motivator for her and inspired her to get into the competition circuit. To keep Silke's spirit alive in her kiting events is important to Kristin and cooperating with the Silke Gorldt Foundation therefore is a priority too.

With a fully booked clinic and 50 girls attending, the KB4girls event in Germany will be the biggest one of this year's tour and certainly a very special event to look forward to attending. The wind forecast for Wustrow offers light wind conditions, but in an unstable weather situation as we have right now this may still change.

PKRA Tenerife finished in strong winds!
The PKRA kitesurfing tour stop at El Medano / Tenerife was held in super strong wind conditions, gusting up to over 50 knots. All competitors had a hard fight for the title title in both wave and freestyle competition.

In the men's freestyle competition, it was again a battle between Youri Zoon, Andy Yastes, Ariel Corniel and Sebastien Garat. Yates was on fire during the double elimination, climbing up the ladder to reach second place. However, he could not manage to win against Youri Zoon who took home the title for this tour stop. The women's freestyle competition was dominated by Gisela Pulido. She won the finals against Ania Grzelinska, who also fought up the ladder in the double elimination but could not stand against Pulidos technical tricks in very difficult conditions.

The wave competition was held in world-class conditions. In the men's wave discipline, it was a spectacular day for Guilly Brandao. Brandao defeated Abel Lago as well as Bruno Bordorsky due to his overall better wave selection, style and power earning him a place in the final heat against Sky Solbach. Brandao defeated Solbach in the final earning him first place in the wave event, while Solbach takes second. The women's wave competition was also won by Gisela Pulido, who won against Ainhoa Garcia in the finals.

The PKRA tour will take a short break until the beginning of November where the next tour stop will be held at Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche, Argentina.
Kitesurf Trophy 2010 is over
The last competition of this year in the German Kitesurf Trophy was held on the island Fehmarn in the Baltic sea. During the three days of the competition, there was only one day of wind where four races could be held. In these races, Gunnar Biniasch came in first ahead of Björn Jensen and Armin Harich. The women's races were won by Windfinder team rider Christine Bönniger who defeated Sabrina Lutz. The junior's competition was dominated by Florian Gruber.
